Resident companies have available to them the following resources. There is no additional charge for any of these unless noted.
- Access to PSU Faculty, Staff, Students and Labs: The Portland State Business Accelerator is a Living Laboratory for Portland State University. As such, the PSBA coordinates opportunities for student interns and projects within tenant companies. It also helps, where possible, to set up joint development agreements with faculty researchers. PSU Lab access is limited at this time to those with development agreements with faculty.
- Business Development Programs: Seminars and workshops are offered to resident companies and others on the topics of strategic planning, business plans, marketing, product commercialization, financing and other topics. On-site PSU courses specific to entrepreneurs and start-ups also are periodically made available to companies at no charge.
- PSBA Partners Network: The PSBA has working relationships with a variety of associations, economic development agencies, financing resources, and professional service firms that can provide key resources for resident companies.
- Professional Service Providers Directory: Resident companies have access to a directory of professional service providers who specialize in meeting start-up needs. Many of these providers offer free workshops on site periodically. Some offer specialized pricing to resident companies.
- On-site Networking: The PSBA hosts low- and no-cost programs for all resident companies to facilitate networking, problem solving and resource sharing.
Facility Resources
- Secure Building: Monitored building with security system and electronic access to offices. Access keys are provided by the PSBA.
- Internet Access: 100 Mbps high-speed internet connectivity.
- Conference Rooms: Large conference room (approx. 1,600 square feet), as well as small conference rooms on both floors available for company use. Conference Rooms are equipped with teleconference capabilities.
- Server Room: Secure, temperature controlled room for company servers.
- Kitchens and Break Rooms: On each floor with refrigerators, microwaves and snack machines.
On-site Services
- Facility Management: On-site staff to assist with facility issues and provide front-door receptioning for the building.
- Office Depot Purchasing Program: On-site ordering and delivery of supplies at discounted rates.
- On-site Parking: Each company receives from one to four no-cost parking permits for the secure garage. Parking permits for the open lot are available at a small monthly charge (currently $25).
- Office Equipment Use: The PSBA office has a variety of non-typical office equipment such as a projector, postal scale, high-volume shredder, and easels that are available for borrowing.
