Advanced Invention to Venture (AI2V) is a proven new venture accelerator that has been taught around the country. It is designed for new technology ventures that are in the process of going to market. The program is provided by the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance under grants from two entrepreneurship organizations, the Lemelson Foundation and Kaufmann Foundation.

Designed for New Venture Teams that are taking a product to market

  • For those who already have a plan, either written or in your head
  • Hands-on exercises and tools help you identify and fill gaps in your plan's data, analysis and strategy
  • Focuses on how to successfully implement the new venture rather than on how to write a business plan.
  • Proven system that can be applied to any technology venture
  • Top-down and bottom-up financial planning for entrepreneurs, focusing on the most important line in your business
  • Not venture capital-centric--explores how to develop financing from customers, suppliers, angels, partners and other investors
  • Helps you create and fine-tune a 15-minute pitch about your new venture that can be easily tailored to any presentation you will make -- whether to investors, strategic partners, customers or other stakeholders

Here is what past participants say about AI2V workshop:

"This intensive workshop taught me what I needed to know to take my invention and turn it into a viable business venture. The hands-on activities were greatly enhanced by the professionalism, personality, knowledge and experience of the instructor Sharon Ballard. "

David Ermer, CEO, Opti-MS

"AI2V helped everyone on my small team learn how to quantify our business practices and the net result is a much stronger and more dynamic business. The step-by-step approach allowed me to quickly rethink and rebuild our business plan and then practice our investor pitch in front of other entrepreneurs and real investors. All of this occurred in the span of four days rather than an agonizing and disrupted several months."

Chris Dawson, CEO, Box Populi
